About the Artist

Thomas Patrick is a Sonoma, CA artist, originally from Atlanta, GA.  His creative output has flourished since moving West.  It is no accident that mixed media is his favorite mode of expression as Thomas comes to his art by way of his father, who was an inventor of gadgets and a designer in wood.

Thomas's creative process evolved from an innocent child's game involving one piece of paper finely folded into a triangle, which then became the target of a partners thumbs...combined with a great deal of enthusiasm and imagination.  This tabletop football evolved into the fine artwork he makes today.

Thomas has worked in many aspects of the art world, from picture framing to corporate sales, however the actual creation of original pieces is what makes him thrive.  Some of his early work was traditional and representational.  His more recent output is a body of semi-abstract mixed-media wall pieces incorporating paint, folded paper and found objects.  These pieces are subtly evocative and let the viewer participate in the interpretation of the work  Thomas greatly enjoys interacting with people and he finds one idea leading to another with many potential pieces clamoring for his creative attention.
